Commissioners Court Leadership Academy Tax Assessor-Collectors County and District Clerks Judges and Commissioners Treasurers

Beginning in the Spring of 2009, the Keys to the Courthouse, Curriculum Enrichment for Young Texans will be available to all Texas County Extension Agents to be distributed to 7th and 12th grade classrooms in their county. This curriculum project is a joint effort of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service’s V.G. Young Institute of County Government, the Texas Association of Counties and the County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas.

The Keys to the Courthouse, Curriculum Enrichment for Young Texans provides a unique opportunity for youth to develop a positive attitude toward the responsibilities and structure of county government. The aim of the program is to teach youth about their county form of government and how it functions, as well as to involve them as a part of that function. This curriculum will feature 5 lessons with classroom and research activities. Each lesson includes the TEKS for the teacher to use in their lesson planning.
